Noorulain Khawaja is a multimedia reporter for Spectrum News in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prior to Spectrum, Noorulain produced and reported as a freelance journalist based in New York City for several international news channels like Al Jazeera and i24NEWS. Some of the assignments included covering the United Nations, traveling on the Biden campaign trail, and reporting live from Puerto Rico during mass protests that led to the ouster of the island's governor.
Noorulain graduated with a Master's degree from Columbia University with a focus on politics and global affairs.
In addition to multimedia broadcast reporting, Noorulain has also written several digital stories for the Daily Dot and the Christian Science Monitor on topics surrounding hate crimes and racial issues.
