Noorulain contributed a mini-documentary-style package to a NY1 special program, which was nominated for an Emmy in 2025. She reported on how a Manhattan church on the Upper West Side is assisting new arrivals to the city, profiled an immigrant who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border with her six-year-old son, and spoke with long-time New Yorkers who are against city-run shelters for migrants because they say it has worsened the quality of life in their neighborhood.
Noorulain won the 2026 Deadline Club award for her investigative reporting where she went inside 26 Federal Plaza, one of the city’s immigration courts, to expose the chaos of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests and detentions, and the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown in New York City.
